OZARK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Tech University at Ozark is seeking state approval so it can offer a program in winemaking and grape growing.

The school hopes to start the classes in the fall if it gets the OK from the state Higher Education Coordinating Board. The Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees has already given its approval.

The Ozark campus is in the middle of the state's winemaking region of west-central Arkansas.

The school wants to offer certificate programs in viticulture and enology. Students completing the technical certificates will be prepared for entry to mid-level positions in grape cultivation and winemaking.
