Vineyard and winery establishment workshop set for April 8
A workshop titled Introduction to Vineyard and Winery Establishment will be offered April 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Niagara University.
This one-day workshop will provide a basic overview of what it takes to establish a commercial vineyard and/or winery. Site and variety selection and preparation, early vine training and management, equipment needs and pest management will be covered. Equipment and processes needed for a start-up winery will be described. Business planning and estimated costs and returns for both vineyards and wineries will be emphasized. Supplemental information will be distributed on a CD-ROM disk.
