Wine expert Kevin Zraly told Lisa that wine consumption in the United States has grown over the last 15 years. Ordering by the half bottle or glass means you can enjoy a small luxury without sacrificing quality.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the standard markup on a bottle of wine in a restaurant is two times the retail prices. The cheaper the wine, the bigger the markup. Ordering by the glass or half bottle will not only be easier on your wallet but make the restaurant owner happy -- after all, it's better for business than ordering nothing at all.
