Wine Bill Passes Senate

Nashville, Tenn. - A proposal to ease restrictions on bringing wine into Tennessee has passed the Senate unanimously.

The measure would allow Tennesseans to buy up to five cases of wine from out-of-state wineries and carry them back into Tennessee.

The bill is in response to a recent federal appeals court ruling that found current law is unfair to competitors outside the state.

A companion bill is being considered in the House.
