Enjoy Wine, Local Artists to Benefit Women's Shelter

On Wednesdays in April (8th thru 29th) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Blue Wind Gourmet will host the next exhibition in the “Wine Wednesday and Artwork” series.  Proceeds from the events will go toward supporting the programs of Leah’s House – a shelter for women and children in St. Mary’s County.

Featured artist for the April series is Darrin Farrell.  A St. Mary’s native, Darrin Farrell, has been operating Images Photography in Lexington Park since 1990.  His work includes all forms of photography: commercial, aerial, restorations with a primary emphasis on wedding photography and studio portraiture. 

Leah’s House is dedicated to providing area women and children a safe, caring and comfortable place to live that will be a positive environment, teach needed skills and provide services that will motivate and empower the individuals thereby equipping families to break the cycle of homelessness. 

As Blue Wind owner, Rob Plant states, “The photography of Darrin Farrell captures the special moments in life – particularly those of families.  Leah’s House helps women and their families who are in need of care and a safe, positive environment and Blue Wind is glad to contribute to the efforts of Leah’s House through hosting this event.” 

On display throughout the shop will be work of the photographer, along with samplings of local foods and wines. Special additions such as signed prints from the artist and other offerings will also be included. A donation of $10 is requested for the tasting.
