ARLINGTON, VA— PMMI announces the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) will hold its 2009 Convention and Tabletop Trade Show in conjunction with PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2009 (Las Vegas Convention Center, Oct. 5–7).

The IBWA 2009 Convention and Tabletop Trade Show will take place October 5–9. This is the second time the IBWA and PMMI have collaborated to benefit the customer audience, membership and other partners. As before, IBWA Convention and Tabletop Trade Show attendees will receive complimentary admission to PACK EXPO Las Vegas exhibits.

"PACK EXPO has always focused on giving attendees access to the entire packaging supply chain, including the important beverage segment," says Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO of PMMI, sponsor and producer of PACK EXPO. "Thirty percent of PMMI members serve the beverage market, which accounted for 22.3 percent of all packaging machinery sales in 2007."、

The collaboration is part of an on-going effort by PMMI to facilitate value-added programming around PACK EXPO and help packaging professionals deal with a challenging economy and tighter travel budgets. Last week, PMMI announced the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC) will hold its 2009 Annual Meeting and 14th International Package Design Competition in conjunction with PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2009.

"Packaging is a key concern to all industries. The cooperative effort between IBWA and PMMI has resulted in the co-location of these two top-notch events and provides an opportunity for exploring current and future packing concerns so we are meeting the challenges together," said Joseph K. Doss, president and CEO of IBWA.

IBWA is the authoritative source of information about all types of bottled waters. Founded in 1958, its membership includes U.S. and international bottlers, distributors and suppliers. IBWA is committed to working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates bottled water as a packaged food product, and state governments to set stringent standards for safe, high-quality bottled water products.

"With each event held in conjunction with PACK EXPO, we capitalize on their natural synergies and give attendees yet another compelling business reason to make the trip to Las Vegas in October," Yuska says.
