Market of Imported Wines Getting Saturated and Competition Getting Intense

According to a spot check conducted by Guangdong Economic and Trade Commission along with other relevant departments, fraction defective of imported wine is as high as 30%. Industry insiders analyze that this is resulted from the nearly saturated imported wine market. However, a lot of dealers which are not clear about the situation are rushing into the market blindly, resulting in pricing disorder, even bringing about a lot of low-priced inferior products in the markets.

In recent years, with the increase of imported wines, wines quality is a problem. In a few previous checks, imported wines are unqualified and could not meet the food sanitation requirement of China.

All the disorders are resulted from fierce competition. It is known that with the sharp rise of wine output in Europe and with the unfavorable financial situation, oversupply is getting more and more severe, so large overstock of wine juice happens. Noticing the business opportunity in it, a lot of dealers purchase wine juice with low price and sell it to China, the newly-rising market, among which there are a lot of inferior products. Foreign wine dealers express frankly that it is a sensible choice to shift to China during financial crisis.

Journalists from China Wine News know that with the cancellation of consumption tax of wine in Hongkong and Macao last year, imported wine market in China was further impacted and the original price system was disturbed.

   The best way for consumers to protect theirs rights and interests is try to buy wines from normal franchised stores. It will need some to standardize market for there is still legal vacancy and poor supervision now.
