A proposed wine bar in downtown Grand Forks is going before the Grand Forks City Council’s safety committee today.

Kym Enlow and Laurie Tweten are seeking an off- and on-sale beer and wine license for Bella Vino, to be located at 108 N. Third St.

The space is near several other bars and restaurants downtown and, until last year, home to the Third Street Café.

The Herald could not reach Enlow or Tweten for comment Monday.

Their liquor license application says Enlow was the owner of the Parrot’s Cay years ago and had her license suspended for a day in 2001 for serving a minor. She also was convicted of drunken driving in 2007.

Tweten’s record shows no alcohol-related problems.
