Las Olas Wine & Food Festival

Load up on all the Ed Hardy crap you need from the boutiques before Saturday, as downtown Fort Lauderdale’s famous drag will be filled with fans of the Las Olas Wine & Food Festival. Wok Star Chef Eleanor Hoh, Chef Jean-Pierre of the eponymous cooking school, and others will be demonstrating their culinary talents on the hour from 3 to 10 p.m., and folks not watching the demos can wander around enjoying live music. Those with Wine and Food wristbands can partake in enough eats to feed a small country from 7:30 to 10 p.m. (more than 100 tables will be serving food and pouring wine). Sure you can technically smoke a cigarette when you’re done chowing and slurping, but we wouldn’t advise it since proceeds from the festival benefit The American Lung Association.

Get your chew on Saturday, or at various wine-maker dinners held Friday night. Tickets/wristbands start at $75 and must be purchased in advance. Call 954-524-4657, or visit lasolaswineandfood.com.
