Travel the world’s vineyards with wine tasting

    CLINTON — The Hunterdon Art Museum and New Jersey’s only Master of Wine and owner of 56º Wine, Christopher Cree, will present the eighth annual Spring Wine & Food Tasting on Saturday, May 16. A benefit for the museum’s exhibition and education programs,the event will take place at the museum, 7 Lower Center St. in Clinton.

    The fundraiser will offer a pre-tasting wine seminar entitled, “Wines of the Rhone Valley and South of France,” led by Chris Cree from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cree is one of only 29 individuals in the U.S. and 250 worldwide who have earned the Master of Wine distinction. Seating at the seminar is limited.

    A walk-around wine and food tasting will follow from 4 to 6 p.m. More than 75 of the world’s greatest wine values from small, artisan growers will be available for sampling.

    Participants also will sample a variety of food donated by local restaurants and businesses, including Metropolitan Seafood, Pru Thai, The Fine Diner, The Garden Gourmet, Wegmans and more. Those attending will also have an opportunity to bid on a private wine tasting for 10 with Cree.

   At the close of the event, the winner of the Museum’s 50/50 raffle will be drawn. Ticket holders need not be present to win. Raffle tickets are available for purchase now.

    Spring Wine Tasting reservations are priced at $100 per person for the wine seminar/wine tasting and $60 per person for the wine tasting only. Payment is due in full with your reservation. To reserve or purchase raffle tickets, call 908-735-8415, ext. 10 by Friday, May 8.
