Community-Wide Effort to Raise Funds for Napa Farmworkers

April 2, 2009, Napa, Calif. -- The Eleventh Annual Cinco de Mayo Golf Classic will be held May 1, 2009 at the Silverado Country Club in Napa. Organized by the Napa Valley Farmworker Committee and the Cinco de Mayo Committee, the Cinco de Mayo Golf Classic is the only fundraising event in Napa Valley to be exclusively dedicated to the needs of farmworkers, with proceeds going to improve farmworker housing, healthcare and education.

"The Golf Classic plays a vital role in providing the funding needed to maintain and improve the housing and lives of the people who work so hard in Napa Valley's vineyards," commented Pat Garvey, member of the Farmworker Committee and owner of Garvey Family Vineyards. "We are so grateful to our underwriters and sponsors, many of whom have been with us for over ten years now. Their generosity and commitment -- as well as the support of our many players -- are a real testament to the caring and integrity of our community."

The 2009 Cinco de Mayo Golf Classic underwrites include Allied Propane, American Ag Credit, Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines, Margaret Duckhorn, Encanto Vineyards, LLC, Garvey Family Vineyards, G&J Seiberlich & Co LLP, Miner Family Vineyards, Raymond Vineyard & Cellar, Renteria Vineyard Management, Rombauer Vineyards, Servin-Lopez Vineyard Management, Silicon Valley Bank, Trinchero Estates, Wells Fargo Bank.
