Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. has established a vendor relationship with an Oregon-based wine maker to sell organic wines in the company’s Florida stores.

Natural Merchants LLC will sell organic wines from around the world in select Winn-Dixie stores as part of the company’s effort to offer more natural and organic products.

To launch the new product an Italian chardonnay and an Italian red blend will be on sale in a buy one, get one free deal throughout April.

All the Natural Merchants organic wines will be priced under $20.

Natural Merchants imports and distributes natural and organic foods and wines from Europe and the Mediterranean, including more than 150 wines from Spain, Italy, Austria, France and Portugal.

Jacksonville-based Winn-Dixie (NASDAQ: WINN) operates 520 grocery stores in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi as well as 11 stores under the SaveRite banner in Florida and Mississippi.

The company’s stock closed at $9.49 April 7, down from $10.23 the day before.
