French wine and cheese tasting Friday

French wines and cheeses will be paired at a tasting event on Friday, May 8, at GC's Tasting Cafe & Specialty Market in downtown Menlo Park.

The event is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Local wine expert Paul Stroth will be pouring a range of French wines. GC's cafe partner Gerard Culas, who was a cheese-maker in his native France, will present a selection of French cheeses chosen to complement the wines.

The cost is $15, which includes the wine tasting and a plate of cheese.

Other tasting events this month include: Ridge Vineyards, Friday, May 15, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., $8; and Martella and Thomas Fogarty wines, poured by Woodside winemaker Michael Martella, Friday, May 22, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., $8.
