Wine Tasting & Gourmet Lunch at Albert 1er

Continuing the Albert 1er programme of gastronomic lunches and wine tasting sessions, the next event on their calendar is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June. Guest of honour is Fric My, producer of Clos des Augustin wines, spoken of here in glowing terms:

he rough terrain of the rocky region of Pic St Loup, reputable terrain of Languedoc, is where 27 year old Fric Mezy carries out the hard work of producing mature and fresh wines. In taking over the family business, this young winemaker did not take the easy option. Always wanting to better himself, Fric, a hard worker, meticulous and pensive, is a lover of wine and the winemaking process. Following his first two vintages, I knew that this young man was talented.?- Olivier Poussier, Best Sommelier in the World 2000.

The day will begin at 10.15am, when everyone will meet for coffee and a brief introduction before the wine tasting begins at 10.30am. Guests will be tasting red and white wines of Clos des Augustins, AOC Ceaux du Languedoc Pic St Loup and Vin de Pays du Val de Montferrand.

At 12.00 noon a gastronomic lunch prepared by Pierre Maillet and Pierre Carrier will be presented, complimented by a selection of Clos des Augustins wines, carefully chosen by sommelier Christian Martray.

Mediterranean sardine on a tomato and basil tart, olive oil vinaigrette

Shoulder and neck of lamb, simmered together and served with garden herbs, artichokes, piquillo peppers and skin of courgette

A selection of fresh and aged cheeses

Iced lime parfait with pineapple viennoise

Coffee, infusions, bite-sized desserts and chocolates

The price for the wine tasting and the gastronomic lunch is 88 €uro per person. The lunchtime menu including wine, mineral water and coffee is 68 €uro per person. Unfortunately it is not possible to sign up solely for the wine tasting, however you are welcome to sign up just for the lunch, which will end around 3pm. To reserve, a 50% deposit is required in advance, payable by credit card or cheque.

NB These wine tasting events are intended for a limited number of people. The deposit will be kept for any cancellations made within 10 days of the wine tasting. Reservation subject to availability. Albert 1er reserves the right to cancel one or both of the wine tasting events if a minimum number of participants is not met. Thank you for your understanding.
