In the conference run together by multi-media and enterprises, tasting of Australian wine was the leading subject. Australian business officials and businessmen of wine industry are trying every means to promote their local wine to more than 60 Chinese dealers presented.
The vice-general manager of Zhongtian Wine Dealer, co., Ltd said that Chinese government’s plan of investing 4 trillion-yuan ($586 billion) to spur domestic demand and boost the slowing economy attracted wine enterprises in Australia. During the passing years, Zhongtian Wine Dealer co., Ltd has been concentrating on the import and sales of brand wine from major wine production areas abroad, Australian wine playing the leading role.
At present, the annual wine consumption per head in China is only 0.3 liters, while America amounts to 45 liters, Argentina, 38 liters, said Yang Zheng, an expert on wine research who was a committeeman of the Marketing Department in Guangzhou Provincial Wine Testing Center.
James, an Australian expert on wine research remarked that with more than 2000 manors, Australia, following France closely, is becoming the second largest wine exporter to China and China, surpassing Japan, has turned to be the biggest wine importer of Australia.
