Lewiston History and Winery Picnic

Join history buffs and wine lovers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday as they “Spend a Morning in Lewiston” getting a historical tour of the town and picnicking at One Maple Winery on the Trinity River. Rodney Strong Reserve Winemakers dinner

6 p.m. Monday at Market Street Steakhouse, 1777 Market St. in Redding. A representative from the winery will be on hand to pair wines with a seven-course meal. Reservations required; call 241.1777. Cost is $125 per person.

Third annual Taste of Redding

Noon to 4 p.m. June 7 at the Redding City Hall Sculpture Park, 777 Cypress Ave. Sponsored by Redding West Rotary, the event features a wide variety of food, drink and entertainment. Wine tastings will be offered by local vintners and sellers, including Alpen Cellars, Burnsini Vineyard and Winery, Cost Plus World Market and Matson Vineyards. Sip Wines at Sunset Marketplace

Store manager Kyall Bradley has completed the lineup for the weekly Friday wine tastings. Visit the store at Eureka Way and Buenaventura anytime from 5 to 7 p.m. and here’s what you’ll get for a $1 tasting fee: Friday: Kattie Shields from Schug Carneros Estate Winery in Sonoma will be on hand to pour and talk. May 22: Open Chardonnay tasting. May 29: Nick Papadopoulos, director of StoneFly Vineyards in Napa Valley; June 5: Mark Hess of J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines; June 12: Sample the wines of Butter Creek Ranch in Hyampom.

A Bit Beyond

Arc’s Ninth Annual Wine Tasting Extravaganza, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Arc Pavilion, 2040 Park Ave. in Chico. Features food and wine from Chico area restaurants and vineyards, including LaRocca and Clos Saron. Event benefits The Arc of Butte County, a nonprofit, charitable community organization that provides services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Tickets $30. Call 891.5865.
