SIAL China 2009 kicked off in Shanghai

    The 10th SIAL China international exhibition for the Food, Beverage Trade kick off from May 19 for 3 days at Shanghai’s new international expo center.

                                      
                                  

    The biggest international event of its kind in China, and the only one of its kind to devote 50 percent of display for overseas exhibitors and the rest 50 percent for national exhibitors, the expo is expected to be a huge draw in China.

    The event features activities such as culinary demonstrations at cooking trend area, wine innovation forum, and China wine & spirits competition. All this provide a platform for attendees to compete and present their products to the expected 29,000 professional visitors from China and across Asia.

    During cooking demonstration, Mexican chefs will prepare world famous “enchiladas” and “burritos,” and they will try to bring to Shanghai the well-known tastes and some new dishes too from modern Mexican fine cuisine.

    SIAL China provides opportunities for both domestic and international enterprises to enlarge their market and enhance their international visibility by facilitating networking. The participating companies also get to learn about new trends.

    SIAL China 2008 witnessed a presence of 1,100 exhibitors from 58 countries and regions, and reported a record of 27,718 visitors from 85 countries coming to learn about the latest news and seeking contacts with the Chinese marketplace.

    The Food Expo was first held in France in 1964 and subsequently held every two years after that.

    In 2000, it was transferred to China, and soon it turned out to be one of the biggest and most famous expos on food and beverage in the world.
