Cognac Production Up By 18.4% To 243,000 Decaliters In March

The FINANCIAL -- In March, production of cognac rose by 18.4% or 37,700 decaliters, compared to February, to 242,800 decaliters.

Ukrainian News learned this from a source in the Cabinet of Ministers.

As compared to March 2008, production of cognac fell by 18.7% or 55,800 decaliters in March 2009.

In January-March 2009, production of cognac fell by 30% or 251,700 decaliters to 586,700 decaliters as compared with January-March 2008.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in February 2009, production of cognac rose by 47.8% or 66,300 decaliters, compared to January 2009, to 205,100 decaliters.

In 2008, production of cognac rose by 8.1% or 286,200 decaliters to 3,843,100 decaliters, compared with 2007.

From refined data, in 2007 production of cognac totaled 3,556,900 decaliters.
