Clubbing-together drinking is a custom shared by many nationalities. It involves the drinkers' clubbing together to buy the wine and having fun. As such, it’s also simply called “clubbing together”. This kind of drinking accompanied by singing and dancing often takes place in the forest or grassland far away from villages in flower-blooming spring and most participants are young people, so it is also known as “mountain drinking” or “flower drinking”. This way of drinking in the open air, with everyone contributing to the cost of wine, directly stems from the long-time gathering, fishing and hunting practices by ethnic minority groups in the past.
