As one of the most dynamic cities, Guangzhou is near Hong Kong and Macao , so lifestyle and culture there is influenced. In recent years, wine culture popularization and consumption is increasingly improving. With rapid growth in import volume and consumption, Guangzhou has been the important market in wine importation and consumption. In order to advance development of Australian wine in south China, Austrade and AWBC jointly held the founding conference of CAWIN in Westin Guangzhou in the morning of May 25th, 2009. This is the fourth CAWIN set up in China after Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, which aims to provide nonofficial network platform for companies engaging in importation, distribution and training of Australian wine in China, to enhance the influence of Australian wine in China and to secure more market share. About 30 Australian chateau wine importers from Pearl River Delta participated in this activity.
