Inertia Beverage Group is expected to announce its purchase of New Vine Logistics with a press release later today, a deal said to have been realized at approximately 11:00 am yesterday, following New Vine's unexpected meltdown last Friday.

Inertia, like New Vine, was founded by a former wineshopper.com employee, and provides technology through its " REthink Engine™" for wineries to take orders directly from retailers and restaurateurs on their web sites.

The deal will create a company with a footprint in e-commerce, compliance, fulfillment, and logisitics.

It remains to be seen how the situation with New Vine's employees will be handled.

Inertia Beverage Group provides an integrated sales and marketing platform for wineries conducting direct-to-consumer and direct-to-trade wine sales - a platform that allows wineries to go direct in 12 states - It has been working toward ways to increase traffic on its system.
