Diageo launches ultra premium vodka in China

Diageo has launched ultra-premium vodka Shanghai White in Hong Kong, the product of a partnership between the drinks giant and baijiu producer Shui Jing Fang.

Handcrafted in small batches in the 600-year-old Shui Jing Fang distillery in Chengdu, China, Shanghai White carries a recommended retail price tag of HK$470 (US$60)

It will be initially available in Intercontinental Hotel, Landmark Mandarin, TONIC and W Hotel.

The vodka, which fuses modern Russian vodka-making techniques with the centuries-old baijiu distillation, was unveiled today (25 June) in Hong Kong, but is being launched globally, Diageo said.
