International Wine Trading Center of Guangzhou Bonded Area Opens

International Wine Trading Center of Guangzhou Bonded Area opened in the 4th Guangdong International Wine& Spirits Expo on July 9th, 2009. It aims to develop into the largest international wine trading center involving exhibition, trade, wholesale, processing, sub-packaging, logistics, customs as well as commodity inspection of imported wine in China. By importing the brand new wine business mode from Europe and America, it will further develop into the third global international wine trading center after New York and London. A lot of foreign enterprises and domestic foreign wine dealers have shown great interest in the expo and trading center.
Journalists from cnwinenews knows that the trading center will first focus on making a platform for exhibition, storage and trade of imported wine with the widest varieties. In the second step, it will establish a complete system for filing, tariff approval, evaluation and pricing.
Up to date, more than half of the total wine consumption in China is in Guangzhou. Importation amount of wine through Guangdong Port has kept on growing from January through August, 2008, registering a year-on-year increase of 43.1%. Industry insiders analyzes that official launch and opening of this center will fundamentally change the disorderly price system and “Good and bad wine mix” situation in the imported wine market of Guangzhou. Furthermore, through this platform Hongkong wine businessmen will be able to make their wine directly enter Guangdong without making a detour to Shanghai so as to greatly reduce transportation and logistics cost.
