Imported Wine Civilianizing, Sales Soaring in China

With more and more fair priced wine shops mushrooming in Changsha, we can see a growing civilian orientation tendency of imported premium wines .

The fair priced wine shops diminished the mesne profit of distributors, which made it possible for Chinese consumers to pay just dozens of RMB Yuan on a bottle of imported wine.

In April, COFCO Junding Winery opened the first wine shop in Changsha.It is said that the shop provides more than 600 kinds of imported wines from 16 different countries.

In the end of 2006, Puyuan Cellar, which specializes in domestic and imported wines, was built in Changsha.In September,2007, AWA Wine Shop marched in Changsha.

Statistics show that alcohol sales in Changsha can reach 7.2 billion yuan for one year , in which wine accounted for 20–30% of the total   sales.

According to the staff of Puyuan Cellar,French wine and wines priced at 150 yuan are the most popular products in the store.
