According to the report released by IWSC, wine consumption in China is expected to jump by 65.2% from 2001 to 2010,which is 6.5 times of the total global growth. In terms of China's beverage consumption mix, wine is only 1.5% of total annual alcohol consumption.

However, influenced by Chinese tradintonal alcohol culture, wine often becomes the symbol of one's social status in China. The elegant western alcohol is boozed out by a lot of Chinese people.

Miss Liu from USA said,"Drinking wine is a kind of enjoy , not for cheers in America. Sometimes people would sip and taste the wine whilst reading a book."

Anna from Russia disagreed with Miss Liu, she said," Chinese people can drink wine casually. It is no need creating a wine culture."

Wine consumption in China is still in the pioneering stage of growth, with the increase of per capita income level, especially with the expansion of the middle class, as well as upgrading of the consumption structure, the value of wine as a health drink is widely recognized.
