Mango wine tempts Chinese palates

A Central Australia mango wine maker says the market for sweet wines in China is growing due to the new affluence and wide distribution possibilities.

Johnny Crayford, from Ti Tree, says he has expanded his exports to China to four major cities within seven months.

He says now is the time for sweet wine makers to sell to China.

"The Chinese haven't been drinking wine for very long and they haven't got the palate for the good heavy red wines yet," he says.

"There's a niche there for another 10 or 15 years with the sweet wine, which is very popular at the moment."
