MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is applying for a permit to sell beer and wine at its Supercenter in Mountain文章来源中国酒业新闻网 Home.

The application comes seven years after the company dropped a similar request when local churches and the city's mayor objected.

Wal-Mart spokesman Kelly Cheeseman says the company is again asking for a permit because of customer requests.

Current Mayor David Osmon says he won't oppose the latest request. The police chief, Baxter County sheriff and local prosecutor say they're unaware of any legal issues that would prevent the permit from being approved.

The assistant to state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board Director Michael Langley says the agency has received six letters opposing the permit and four in favor.
