New Asian markets for WA wine

Several wineries in the south-west of Western Australia are going to benefit from a range of new major export markets.
International buyers from six countries, including Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, recently visited the region.
Matt Lewis, from the South West Development Commission, says so far, international investors have bought more than $100,000 worth of wine from the region.
"One of the groups in particular, who'd shown a great interest in premium wine, has selected six wineries that I know of at this stage, and we've just got them some quotes for some freight to," he says.
"It will come out of Fremantle, as opposed to where they were shipping out of Adelaide in the past, so that would mean a full sea container."
