New Initiatives for WFA 2009

Delicatessen for Wine

WFA 2009 will put spotlight on wine pairing with delicatessen. An interesting array of fine food will be showcased for the first time.

Spirits Pavilion
For the first time, WFA 2009 will introduce a new component to its lineup – Spirits Pavilion.
Dedicated to the spirits industry, it aims to provide a comprehensive showcase for buyers to learn about and select the brands that best suit their needs. Don’t miss the chance to exhibit at the Spirits Pavilion

ViniCasino
Give your wine tasting a casino feel and relieve the excitement of Las Vegas. ViniCasino is a wine edutainment which provides a series of wine challenges that bring wine tasting and learning experiences to new heights. The highly interactive games will create an extravaganza of fun, excitement and learning around wine.

Post-WFA 2009 Shanghai Roadshow
Scheduled to take place on 27 October 2009, the Shanghai roadshow is intended to provide exhibitors with an opportunity to make inroads into China, the world’s ninth largest wine market by volume. The value of imports into China is expected to reach US$870 million by 2017, up almost five-fold from US$184 million in 2007. Grab this opportunity to meet and explore new business partnerships with the local distributors, F&Bs and hoteliers as we bring you face-to-face with the right people! Exemption of Duty and GST
To promote wine trading activities and help develop the wine industry in Singapore, the Singapore Government has just announced that duty and GST will be exempted for a specified quantity of wine for use at approved wine exhibition and conference events, like WFA, with effect from 1 April 2009. For exhibitors of WFA, this will translate into lower cost for participation at WFA 2009.
