The hike of excise duties pushed up the price of many branded spirits, with Fei Tian Maotai (53% alcohol content) priced at 728 yuan a bottle from 698 yuan a bottle, the price of Wuliangye (52% alcohol content) jumped to 598~628 yuan a bottle from 588 yuan.
Many consumers said that they almost have no ability to consume such premium spirits and liqueurs. However, the price-up of spirits has offered good chances to wine promotion.
