Little interest in buying WA vineyards

Vineyard sales in Western Australia have declined this year, in the wake of a massive oversupply of grapes and the economic downturn.

Acton South West says it currently has 15 vineyards on the market.

Director Brian Moulton says interest is beginning to turn around.

"Traditionally, we sell 12-14 vineyards a year, because that's what we specialise in," he says.

"For us to only have sold two vineyards in nine months, the interest has dwindled.

"There wasn't the inquiry at the end of last year and there wasn't the inquiry at the start of this year, but that's changed a little bit in the last six weeks."
