Farmers urged to consider spray drift impact

The Coonawarra Grape Growers Association says farmers spraying crops near vineyards need to be aware of the effect it can have on grapes.
Budburst has begun in the Limestone Coast vineyards, a difficult time for growers as the vines are at one of their most volatile stages.
The president of the association, Stuart Sharman, says even a little bit of spray from a nearby paddock can have a big impact on grapes.
"For grapes especially we can [get] distorted growth, the vines do get checked for the vintage they're heading into and also we have some bi-seasonal impacts for the following vintage," he said.
