Wine Marlborough head Blair Gibbs believes New Zealand wine exports should come back strongly from the global downturn

New Zealand wine exports should see a solid comeback from the global downturn, according to an industry spokesman.

Wine Marlborough head Blair Gibbs says New Zealand's traditional market in the UK is beginning to recover and he sees many opportunities and new pockets in the global market.

He says although New Zealand will need to work hard to promote its brand again, wine companies are cautiously optimistic for another good growing season.

2009 wines are being blended, bottled and released over the next six weeks.
