From 2005 to 2008, 2 -plus liters imported wine had been exceeding below 2 liter imported wines in China market. But the pattern lasted for many years is likely to be broken this year. Statistics showed that from July 2008 to June 2009, the amount of 2 -plus liters and below 2 liters imported wines were almost same -70,593 tons and 73,735 tons respectively.

According to the statistics, below 2 liter imported wines increased 34%, reaching 70,593 tons. However, 2 -plus liters imported wine fell by 23.5%, and only 73,735 tons. Prior to a longer period of time, 2 -plus imported wines has been more than twice as below 2 liters –an average of 10 million tons these years. It is understood that most of the 2 -plus liters imported wines are bulk wines.

Industry expert analyzed the reason is that China local wine producers enlarged their purchase of local grapes. It's learned that Chang Yu, Great Wall and Dynasty all widen their grape planting areas in China, hence lessen the use of imported wines. The Deputy General Manager of Dynasty             said that their grapes were mainly from Ningxia region.

On the other hand, under that financial crisis, domestic demand has been falling in the first half of the year, that spells trouble for producers
