First Bergerac wine promotion kicked off in China



Bergerac Wine Associations of France started its first series of promotion activities in China. The first move took place in Shanghai on September 16. The promotion activities aimed at expanding the region's influence among Chinese consumers and further expand its consumer market.
Bergerac has 13 Appellations, 93 villages, total wine production 86 million bottles, of which 56% are red wine, 39% are white wine, 5% are rosé wines. 15% of its local production exported to the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands. In 2008, exports to China amount to 37 million bottles of wine, but recognition in Chinese market is not good at present.
Shanghai Alf Import and Export Co., Ltd. was one of the importers of the Bergerac region. Besides the Golden Oak series, the company has introduced several new products to widen its portfolio.
Zhao, director of marketing of Alf, told China Wine news, the golden oak series has a number of distributors in big cities all over China. The market is developing rapidly in recent years.
