United Wealth Wins Big China Wine Deal

London based United Wealth Ltd has today announced a major wine deal to China – one that is offering a long-term growth stream to an Australian icon range of products. The initial order of 30 containers of two wines from the United Wealth investment range called “Norman’s Wine range – the Norman’s Shiraz and Norman’s Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2005 vintage – are now being shipped to China as part of the contract.

London, United Kingdom, September 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Announcing the China deal today, United Wealth's Managing Director, Mr Peter Perrin, said the initial order was worth $1.9 million, with 15,000 cases of each wine in the first shipment.

“We have secured the Chinese deal with a major retail chain, Jiangsu Jinsheng International (JJI), which is based in Manjing,” Mr Perrin said.

“JJI distributes wines throughout China, with large Investment Institutions in all major cities and with significant operations in Manjing, Shanghai and Beijing.

“The Chinese are excited to be able to offer wines from an London based investment wine company with a history going back more than 150 years and most importantly will be offering our Norman’s wines at premium prices -- around the $300 per bottle mark.

“Unlike many orders from London to China, this agreement is for bottled Investment wines – not bulk wines – so we are exporting value and a premium product and not exporting margins to gain sales.

“Importantly for United Wealth we have been able to achieve this Chinese agreement through the use of our high volume, low cost winery and stocks acquired through the takeover earlier this year of the Bear Stearns Tangible Investment division.

“Both United Wealth and JJI want to achieve a long-term relationship to extent the Norman’s brand in China and discussions are now under way to further enhance the United Wealth investment Wine range in China.”

Mr Perrin said the redevelopment of the Norman’s branch under the United Wealth Ltd umbrella had seen the rebirth of the brand also in London with the Norman’s product range offered for sale through a direct online Investment Broker and on-line marketing service.

Through the on-line company, Growth Wines Direct, Norman’s has become a significant brand in that company’s sales portfolio.

“Growth Wines Direct is advertising and promoting our Norman’s Wines products regularly in their mail-outs and through their advertising in major Brokers, Mr Perrin added.

“We have specifically designated two ranges of wines for sale through Growth Wines Direct – headed by the Chais Clarendon range and complemented by the contemporary Norman’s Encounter Bay range.

“In addition, we have just entered agreement with national London wine agents, Fine Wine Partners, for the Norman’s “Lone Gum Range” to be used nationally as that company’s function and banquet range for broad use in major Investment functions around the country.”
