2009 China Wine News Wine Contest Held in Qinghuangdao
2009 China Wine News Wine Contest jointly organized by China Wine News and Wine Assessment Center of China Wine News and co-organized by Food and Drinks Channel of Sohu.com was successfully held in Beidaihe, Qinghuangdao, Hubei Province on September, 19, 2009.
After over 3 month of careful preparation, the contest has received 93 varieties of wine by September 18, including dry red wine, dry white wine, sweet wine, pink wine, sparkling wine and special wine from different production areas in the world. In accordance with international wine standard, the contest judges wine from its appearance, smell and taste.
Liu Shisong, Editor in Chief of China Wine News said before the contest that 2009 China Wine News Wine Contest mainly aims to serve customers.
With the theme of Looking for Wine of Chinese Style, the contest followed the principle of fairness, neutrality, openness and transparency, released the contest result to the public, guided customers in wine consumption and advocated healthy consumption of wine.
It is learnt by journalist from China Wine News that the contest which was not sponsored by any enterprises in production and logistics was professional, universal and representative. Contestants participated in the contest voluntarily without paying any fees. Wine enterprises can submit wine according to their own situation.
With Mr. Shen Zhongxun, Vice President of Wine Institute of Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University as the judge’s panel chairman, the judges included such experts and scholars as Mao Zhaoxian, Wang Hua, Zhu Sixu, Li Demei and Zhao Fan, media reporters as well as wine fans. A total of 35% of participated wine were awarded gold, silver and bronze prize, accounting for 5%, 10% and 20% of the total respectively. The list of award will be published in the next issue of China Wine News.
