Yanziling Fishing Platform

Yanziling Fishing Platform is a major scenic spot in the national scenic area of Fuchun River-Xin’an River-Thousand Islands Lake, a Zhejiang Key Protected Relic, one of the relics of East Han Dynasty, and one of the patriotism education bases. Containing east and west platforms, it is also named“Fishing on Two Platforms”. Yanziling Fishing Platform is a historic spot usd by East Han Dynasty’s personage Yanziling. used to be an old classmate of the Emperor regnent Liuxiu.

During this Emperor’s rule, Yanziling refused to take any position in government, and returmed back to Fuchun River with his wife, settled down there to live in privacy, ploughing a field and angling from the river all of his life. People respect his high spirit and build a temple in memory of him. This angling platform is edging Fuchun Rive, on both sides of the river standing high peaks, the river’s water as clean and clear as mirror. It’s the most beautiful part of Fuchun River, regarded as the first old angling platform in Chinese history.
