Icewine is internationally recognized as premium wine. China’s history of producing ice wine is only 10 years, but production has reached 40% of the world. The quality of some brands are comparable with best icewines internationally.
China's icewine production has reached more than 400 tons last year. Liaoning, Jilin, Shandong, Gansu and other provinces are all producing ice wine.
There is no ice wine exports in China at present. Huanren County in eastern part of Liaoning Province, with its unique ecological, geographical, climatic advantages, become the world's rare excellent ice wine production zone, and was regarded by the international experts as the "Golden Ice Valley". At present, ice wine production in Huanren are among the best quality in the country. State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision has announced the Huanren Icewine is under protection of geographical indications.
