PLCB, PA Breast Cancer Coalition, Beringer Wine Partner To Support Breast Cancer Awareness
HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Supporting a worthy cause can make great wine taste even better.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, in partnership with Beringer Vineyards and the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, is giving Pennsylvanians an opportunity to share in the spirit of donation during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
During October, Beringer will contribute $1 for each full case of Beringer White Zinfandel and White Merlot sold in PA Wine and Spirits stores, up to $10,000. Every bottle purchased during October will count toward the case total for Beringer's donation.
"The Liquor Control Board is pleased to provide an opportunity for Beringer and the Breast Cancer Coalition to share information while raising awareness and money to fight this devastating disease," said Patrick J. "P.J." Stapleton III, chairman of the Liquor Control Board.
Beringer's blush-wine breast cancer awareness program helps raise money for the coalition, which helps the coalition to organize educational programs and create a support system for Pennsylvanians who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
"We are thrilled to join with Beringer Wine and the Liquor Control Board in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the women that the Breast Cancer Coalition serves across the state," said Pat Halpin-Murphy, president and founder of the coalition. "Thanks to these fundraising efforts, we are able to continue to spread the message of breast cancer awareness and support the nearly 103,000 women living with breast cancer in Pennsylvania."
"We are elated to be partnering with the Liquor Control Board to aid in the fundraising efforts for the Breast Cancer Coalition," added Brandon Foglio, regional sales manager for Foster's Wine Estates, supplier for Beringer. "Being involved in the community helps bring pride to the organization, motivates us as employees, and hopefully helps enhance the quality of life of those around us."
Beringer will make a donation for purchases of the following wines:
Beringer White Zinfandel 1.5 liters.
Beringer White Merlot 1.5 liters.
Beringer White Merlot 750 milliliters.
