LONDON - Retailers are planning to increase their ranges of low-alcohol wines in the run up to Christmas in response to growing demand and increased health concerns about drinking.

According to Nielsen figures, sales of low-alcohol drinks have increased by 11% in the last 12 months and the wine industry has organised a forum for producers and retailers in an attempt to encourage the industry to expand their low-alcohol ranges.

The event, organised by the Wine and Spirit Trade Association, will also discuss ways of marketing lower alcohol wines more effectively.
