Alvin Leung celebrates Hong Kong's Food and Wine Year in Sydney |
Hong Kong Tourism Board hosted Monday a media lunch in Sydney to celebrate Hong Kong Food and Wine Year.
Among the attendees was special guest Chef Alvin Leung, the founder of Bo Innovation - Hong Kong's only independent restaurant to be awarded two Michelin stars by the prestigious Michelin guide.
Leung, also known as the Demon Chef, said he was proud that Hong Kong had received for the first time international recognition from the Michelin guide for its great food.
"Those that have Michelin Stars in Hong Kong now know what standard to set" he said.
Themed Hong Kong: Best Place. Best Taste, the 2009 Hong Kong Food and Wine Year celebrates Hong Kong's rich gastronomic heritage.
Hong Kong will host a bevy of yummy events including the Wine and Dine Festival from October to November, street carnivals such as the Lan Kwai Fong Carnival 2009 and the SoHo Wine and Dine Festival.
