How to Make a Cup of Tea Using the Microwave
Although using the microwave to make a cup of tea is not the ideal way to make tea, it does reduce the time wasted waiting for water to boil on the stovetop and can be convenient in workplaces or when you are parched and just want your tea "now". Here is how to perform it with the minimum of fuss.
Steps
1. Fill a microwave-safe mug with water.
2. Put your favorite bagged tea inside the cup. Remove the staple on the teabag to prevent the potential for a sparking reaction within the microwave.
3. Put the cup with water and teabag in the microwave.
4. Turn the microwave on "HIGH" for 1-2 minutes.
5. Carefully remove tea from microwave. Pay attention to what you are doing as the Mug will be HOT!
Warnings
Only use this method when using teabags, not diffusers. Do not put anything metallic into the microwave.
