Can't Make It to the World's Wine Regions? Go "Around the World in 80 Sips" this Friday in NYC
New Yorkers are serious wine lovers and while no wineries exist in New York City, the city's wine shops offer a plethora of selections from around the world.
But what if you want to try different wines from around the globe but don't have the deep pockets to buy them all? The founders of Bottlenotes.com are hosting their first annual wine tasting "Around the World in 80 Sips" on Friday, November 13th, at 583 Park Avenue.
"Around the World in 80 Sips" features wine from five continents and countries that are often overlooked by wine aficionados. Yes, there is a winemaking culture in China and Lebanon and "Around the World in 80 Sips" will showcase them as well as stalwarts such as Argentina, Australia, France, Italy and Spain. Food purveyors will be on hand as well. A portion of ticket sales benefits Robin Hood, a local non-profit organization which identifies and combats poverty at its roots, giving 100 percent of every donation directly to programs helping poor New Yorkers.
Tickets are $60 in advance, $75 at the door. Go to http://Bottlenotes.com to register and receive $10 off with the code BN10 at checkout.
