The Niya Site

Located in Minfeng County, Xinjiang in northwest China, the Niya Site is actually the site of Jingjue Kingdom in the Han and Jin Dynasties. Centering on a stupa, the ancient site covers an area 25km long from north to south and 5 to 7km wide from east to west.
The relics found within the site included houses, backyards, graveyards, stupa, Buddhist temple, fields, garden, pens for livestock, trenches, pottery kilns and smelting site. Unearthed were also carpentry, bronze, iron, pottery and stone wares, wool, coins and wooden slips.
