ASC Fine Wines Adds Peter Lehmann Wines and The Hess Collection Winery to Its Portfolio

November 11, 2009, Shanghai - ASC Fine Wines (“China’s greatest fine wine importer” – Robert Parker Jr), in line with its market leadership and growing commitment to the Greater China fine wine market, is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Lehmann Wines and The Hess Collection Winery to its exclusive portfolio in Mainland China commencing January 1st, 2010.

The Barossa Valley is acknowledged the world over as home to Australia’s best wines and shares the mantle with the Rhone Valley as an iconic region for Shiraz. Through a loyal partnership with over 160 local grape growers, Peter Lehmann Wines has access to some of the finest of the region’s vineyards to produce wines that have seen the winery twice awarded the title International Winemaker of the Year (2003 and 2006 IWSC London) in the recent edition of James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion, 15 wines rated 90 points+ and 10 wines rated 95 points+. “Peter Lehmann has continued to flourish, making wines from all the major varieties at multiple price points, the common link being over-delivery against expectations.” (James Halliday)

The Hess Collection Winery was founded by Swiss entrepreneur and noted modern art collector Donald Hess. True to his Swiss roots, Hess first purchased vineyards on the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder, the highest appellation in the Napa Valley, in 1978, and first made wine under The Hess Collection Winery label in 1983. Along with its mountain vineyards, the winery has won acclaim for its other estate vineyards in the northeast and southern ends of the Napa Valley and has been recognized for its successful relationships with family-owned growers who represent some of the finest appellations in California. A leader in sustainable and organic practices, the Hess Collection Winery adheres to founder Donald Hess’ philosophy - “Nurture the land, return what you take.”
