S AFRICA: SABMiller black empowerment deal on track

SABMiller's black economic empowerment deal remains on-track to be effective from 4 February.

More than 99% of SABMiller shareholders approved the scheme at a General Meeting held earlier today (13 January), the UK-listed brewer said.

Final approval for the scheme is expected at a court hearing on 3 February.
