Wuliang Enlarging Health Care Wine Output
SICHUAN, Jan 12, 2010 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --
Wuliangye Yibin Co., Ltd. (SZSE: 000858), a A-list liquor maker in China, is looking to enlarge its health care yellow wine Gold Wine output with a budget of CNY 200 million, says Liu Guoqiang, vice general manager with the health care alcohol unit under Wuliangye.
Such a plan comes at a time when Kweichow Moutai Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 600519), the biggest rival of Wuliangye, is cutting the output of its Premium Wine, a product similar to the Gold Wine.
Mr. Liu discloses that sales of Gold Wine topped CNY 1 billion at the end of October 2009, but he refused to break out the sales target for 2010.
Wuliangye has set a goal of boosting its Gold Alcohol output to 12,000 tons. Priced at CNY 128 to CNY 138, Wuliangye Gold Wine is in a disadvantage position in comparison with its market peers.
The productive capacity buildout of Wuliangye is aiming at the potentially huge health care alcohol market in China.
