VinoVisit client wineries can now add the "Book a VinoVisit" reservation widget to their Facebook pages, enabling visitors to book a visit or RSVP for an event and then post their itinerary on their “walls” using Facebook Connect.

Napa, CA (PRWEB) January 18, 2010 -- VinoVisit.com is pleased to announce the release of its new Facebook application, “Book a Visit.” Designed to leverage the viral power of social media by providing direct response capability on the hundreds of winery fan pages, the application is free to wineries that join the VinoVisit network.

“Wineries can now accept reservations for tastings, tours or special events right from their Facebook pages. And the visitors can post their event itinerary on their Facebook wall to share with friends using Facebook Connect,” explains VinoVisit CEO, Dan Lintz. “Our ‘Book a Visit’ application is part of our larger strategy to support direct-to-consumer wine sales by promoting and facilitating winery visits and thereby growing customer lists.”

The VinoVisit sales team will be demonstrating the new application at the Direct-to-Consumer Symposium in Santa Rosa on January 19, 2010.
Delectus Winery is the first VinoVisit client to implement the new “Book a Visit” application, which is not surprising as Delectus is an example of how a boutique winery can leverage social media to its advantage.

Says Delectus Direct-to-Consumer Manager, Kent Higginbotham, “I personally dedicate at least an hour a day to social media outreach. It’s important to stay in touch with the people drinking and buying our wine, and Facebook is an effective and inexpensive channel.”

“Our winery was already part of the VinoVisit network when we learned about the new 'Book a Visit' Facebook application, so it was a natural next step to add it to our Fan page. At Delectus, we want to make it easy for folks to visit us, and this is a great way to achieve that goal. We feel like this will close the loop with our fans, while giving us a metric for measuring the effectiveness of our outreach.”

The VinoVisit sales team will be demonstrating the new application at the Direct-to-Consumer Symposium in Santa Rosa on January 19, 2010. Says Bob Iannetta, EVP Sales at VinoVisit. “We anticipate a lot of wineries will implement the 'Book a Visit' Facebook application because it’s a natural progression in promoting winery events to their friends and fans. We’re looking forward to showing it to wineries.”
