Wine and grape event could draw 12,000

The 2010 Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, billed by organizers as the nation's largest wine/grape conference and trade show, opened its four-day run Tuesday at the Sacramento Convention Center and Hyatt Regency Sacramento.

The event is expected to draw nearly 12,000 wine and grape industry professionals from around the world.

General sessions include an overview of the industry and consumer trends in wine purchasing. More than 500 international exhibitors are displaying products and services on the convention floor.
